Robert, I am cheins mom, My son is at the same place you are , some days cant get out of bed though. and he is only 26 years old. What were your symptoms at age 26?just wondering if my son had bmd or dmd. other bmd patients seem to be doing better for much longer than my son has. |

I have a question , I reciently feel in love with the most wonderful man who happens to have beckers md he has had several bad falls one recently left him unconcious as he hit his head when he feel . he is 39 years old and I am so owrried about him he tells me this is normal can that be true> what should I expect ? can anybody help with me fears I want to help him but after these episodes he pushes me away saying maybe hes not good enough for me , I love him and want to help , does anybody have any ideas ? Please email me. I would apreciate any Info or links to sites that might be abole to help me help him Im afraid for him and want to do whats right.

I am sorry to hear this. However I react the same when others try and help me up from a fall. I hate this desease and what it is doing to my body and my relationships. I just want to be average. I dont want my girlfriends to have to take care of me. I react angry and dont mean to. I feel worthless and helpless and sometimes agry or desperate.I am on guard from the rejection I have and will recieve from others, especialy girls. He probably doesnt mean to be the way you see him, but I dont think you should expect it to change. I dont know if counsoling would help? It hasnt for me. the MD is a powerful and painful nuscence. I wish you luck and streghnth, as you will need it to continue the relationship. prayers! |

:) Hi, my name is alison, my husband is 45 and has beckers, he was mobile up until this year. Unfortunately he,s developed heart related problems and is currently in hospital. We met 7years ago and married 4 yrs ago. My husband has mood swings and shuts down. You have to be very patient and try not to take it personally when he,s having a bad time. This is an awful disease, and is heartbreaking to watch at times. My husband and I have crammed a lot in since meeting and are trying to stay positive. We havent met any other becker sufferers, ny husband Jeremy has struggled to come to terms with it and only now has agreed for me to reach out to other people. I hope to hear from you or anyone as to how you cope. If you love your boyfriend, you will need to be strong and supportive but most of all honest with each other. |

Thansk for sharing you story with the rest of us. We all seem to struggle sort of the same. I could use pointers on how to deal with rude uncaring doctors as well as with girlfriends. You are lucky to have met someone who will accept you even with your plight in life. I cant seem to meet anyone who isnt kind of assuming and hearless to me. They dont really want to deal with it all. but then... who would? |
