Hi, i have been on this sight before, my son has tones of these symptoms, and has never been diagnosed, and dont no what to do??confused My 10 year old son,has always walked on toes and has had leg pain all his life, docs told me he would outgrow, stop worrying.about 5 docs decided to afo braces and pt ,couple years no improvement. Has always had balance loss and difficulty with stairs.but past 4-5 months pain keeps worsening and worsening, to point he cant just play in yard, walk around a store .had to stop sports, in which he loves. has now gone into his arm and elbow, sometimes shoulder, back and neck. falls easily, has tingling and numbness in ankles toe fingers and left arm, docs keep sending us to one doc to another. any of this ring a abell to anyone??? and does anyone know of any place we can take our son, that they might be interested in helping him and not just sending him from doc to doc with no answers. We just feel like he is getting worse and worse and nobody wants to help.We keep praying it is something simple and easy fix, but facing reality that he just keeps getting worse, and they cant tell us what is wrong and keep, running test.and giving him meds for something they dont know is. i forgot to mention he gets continuous muscles spasms, mostly on his left side, in which they have him taking neurontin for. any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks confused, angry, scared, mom but blessed with this sweet, innocent, smart,handsome10 year old boy, That i dont even know what to tell him, because they dont know whats wrong??? What do i do???? where can we go???people have mentioned boston to me??? Thanks Tammy

Hey Tammy, I would suggest that you go onto the mda website to find a Md clinic near you. here's the link(just type in your zip code): http://www.mda.org/locate/ Goodluck!

HI Thanks you all for your info. I am still in the process of trying to figure out what is going on. One of the things they have my son on is Neurontin he has been getting , uncontrolled muscle spasm. in which they beleive is causing some of his muscle tightness. Is that something you can get with bmd. No they have not done a muscle biopsy, they have been doing everything under the sun, but have mentioned it?? how painful is that? That is one thing he is really upset about having to do.. Thanks again Tammy

Hi Tammy I understand what you are going through. I am having my son tested on 7/17. He is 17 months old and he is not walking yet. He also has a hard time getting up off the floor. I know that I am a carrier. Are you or your husband carriers that you of? I hope you find the help that you need.

Hi Tammy I know your heart ache as a mother. Why haven't doctors tested his CPK it is such a simple blood test that can determine if a genetic test for md is needed. I would ask to have his cpk tested by his dr. I hope you find your answer and I hope there is a cure for your son.
