To mothers of sons with BMD or if you have BMD. DID/DOES you child/you have behavior issues and what type of issues do you see.  My son will be turning 6 in 2 weeks. He has always had a quick temper and if things are just so he gets really upset. He  is a sweet child so thoughtful and caring but can turn on a dime. He has some behavior issues at school as well. We are going to see a therapist on Friday.

In the meantime I am very curious as to other's and if there are behavior issues associated with BMD diagnosis.

stacy, I'm sorry to say (with my boy's) it doesn't get better. I have three sons with bmd and dilated cardiomyopathy, they are ages 18-29, they are all very functional, and very sweet boy's, until someone does'nt agree with them, or somethings not going their way.  I learned to ignore their bad behavior and usually they will calm down and apologize.  Turn on a dime is a perfect descripton.  Stay strong.

I don't think that behavior issues are necessarily related to BMD. I know two people and both are very sweet-natured and patient.

Very facinating. Not sure how it might apply to boys/men with more mild MD symptoms, but I'd guess that it is a spectrum as is the muscular involvement.
