Hi, I'm 16 and I would like to know how are you now after the surgery are you weaker or any thing because I was thinking of doing the same surgery but was afraid that I'd get weaker. And how did you do the surgery, did you use anesthetic because i heard that made people weak.

Anesthesia has never made me weak and I've been put under several times.

I've had anethesia also and I did fine. You do have to be careful to tell your doctor about it, since there are specfic drugs that can be extremely harmful for MD patients.

I am curious to hear more about the experiences from people that have had the surgery.

Hi. I am a female manifesting carrier  and I had the surgery when I was 13. I had both tendons done. I was in plaster for 6 weeks. Missed school. It can be painful in the recovery especially after the plaster is removed. I had to use a walking stick and then elbow crutches and then a wheelchair. But get it done because if you are experiencing pain when you try to put your foot flat, it may get worse if untreated.
