Hi. I just turned 16 and im still not in puberty. My voice is light and i look young. I got Beckers muscular dystrophy, does BMD delay puberty? When did you get in to it? :( Thank you.

HI Randomizer, BMD does not delay puberty however the use of steroids do. Are you taking Prednisone? If so, one the many side effects of this drug is the delay of puberty. Try not to worry about hitting puberty too much, it will happen when your body is ready. :) I remember back when I was a young teenager my twin friends were wondering about this very issue. They thought it would never happen! Some people hit puberty a little later than others.

I think it may, I remember when I was your age my brothers that are a year younger than me hit before I did and I wasn't on steroids. I still look really young for my age, thought it was from BMD? I'm about to be twenty eight and people dont even believe im 21.

I think that there might be a component of BMD that delays some development. Although I have a mild case, I grew to 6ft tall when I was 13, but I didn't have facial hair until I was 28. I had friends with full beards at 17 in high school :) I also looked fairly young, but that will serve you well as you age...take it from me....I'm nearing 40 and people still think I'm around 30. Yeah me too. I look really young for my age as well. I didn't start growing hair on my legs till I was like 20-21 and they are still not hairy just patches. I am 29 now and I still cannot grow any facial hair at all. I've always wanted side burns but can't grow anything at all. I hate to say this but we are mutants, with a mutated X chromosome.

I think I reached puberty at the right age. At 54, it seems a long time ago. LOL. 

I've always looked younger. I remember at 35 being carded at a bar. At the time I was really upset. I wish I looked 35 today. 

I've never had too much facial hair but at my age I'm just lucky to have all the hair on my head!!! LOL
