The state of california is giving me hard time getting on permanant disability. They are saying that I am not disabled. It is too humiliating for me to stay in the work force any longer.

Cybernetic - I've been luck to continue working until recently. Due to the progression of my BMD I've had to change directions several times. I was having real difficulty getting up and down from my office chair. I went to a prower chair and it allowed me a few more years of work.

I know I don't know you personally - but I would give some thought to finding a way to keep working as long as possible.

I think I've gone as long as I can in the workforce. It is far too humiliating to push on. I constantly fall down and drop stuff. since I'm a male in an office enviromment females expect me to do all the physical duties, go get more paper, go grab those boxes. Even after they know damn well I cannot do those things. They constantly say things to degrade me.

Sorry to hear the horror stories. I've found that working in IT sometimes allows for working from home. I have found this to be very compatible and alleviates some of the office banter too.

Is there another line of work that you've been considering? Maybe it's time to give it a try...

MDA has also pursued getting automatic disability approval for MD patients. I'd also contact your local MDA rep to get some help. The Social Security department can be square headed a lot.

We've had this question at our annual conference several times and it is helpful to talk with someone that has figured out how to do it.
